Samsung heir, Lee Jae-yong has been freed from a South Korean prison on parole.
Lee Jae-yong served 207 days out of the two-and-a-half years’ sentence given him over bribery and embezzlement charges in January.
The heir spent half of his sentence in jail after being convicted in a case that involved South Korean’s former President Park Guen-hye, who is also in jail for bribery and corruption.
Lee in a brief statement outside prison said, “I’ve caused much concern for the people. I deeply apologise. I am listening to the concerns, criticisms, worries and high expectations for me. I will work hard.”
