Malaysia Police have seized over 1,069 Bitcoin mining machines.
The police in Sarawak state recently found themselves saddled with 1,069 Bitcoin mining machines- and found an innovative way to dispose of them.
The police disclosed the machines were being powered with stolen electricity.
The cryptocurrency mining rigs, worth an estimated $1.25m (£920,000) was seized in raids between February and April of 2021.
Bitcoin mining rigs execute complex computations and in return are rewarded with the cryptocurrency, this process consumes large amounts of energy.
